A new care home in Ashford is asking the community to nominate ‘local heroes’ for the chance to win a £300 cash prize.
The newly-opened Care UK home, Montfort Manor on Kennington Road (located within a short distance of William Harvey Hospital), is searching for local people or organisations who go above and beyond for their community, friends or family, and have a positive impact on the local area.
The winner of the competition will receive £300 and be invited to the opening of Ashford’s newest care home at its grand launch event on 30th January 2020. There will also be two runners-up, with £200 for second place and £100 for third.
Cheryl Shorter, home manager at Montfort Manor, said: “We all know that one person who organises everything, is always there for others and never shies away from offering a helping hand – so here at Montfort Manor we want to say thank you.
“Whether they’re a volunteer at a local charity, or community group that really makes a difference to the area, or simply someone who goes the extra mile for others – share your story with us so we can reward them with the recognition they deserve.”
To nominate your ‘local hero’, visit careuk.com/care-homes/montfort-manor/local-heroes before midnight 30th November 2019 and explain in 100-400 words why they deserve to be rewarded.
Recently opened and designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, the new care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities. The home features a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
