Lisa Lomas, from Maidstone, took part in a competition to name the new Care UK home, on Gidds Pond Way, which opens early next year.
The competition called for the people who know the town best, its residents, to share suggestions which have cultural or historical reference to the town.
Lisa came up with Invicta Court, named after the centuries-old motto of Kent, ‘Invicta’, which means ‘unconquered’.
Angi Knight, regional director at Care UK, said: “The home naming process is one of the key milestones for the new home, so it was important to involve the community in the decision. All of the names put forward were of a very high quality, but we felt Invicta Court was original and really rooted the home in the local area.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who made a name suggestion, and particularly to Lisa for coming up with the winning name.”
Lisa said: “I have lived in the Maidstone area my whole life, so when the opportunity arose to be a part of the town’s history, I leapt at the chance.
“I am delighted Invicta Court has been selected and think it’s a lovely way of preserving the heritage of the area and celebrating the history of the county – and the people who live here.”
