Broadwater Lodge will welcome members of the public on Thursday 5th September, from 10am-4pm, to allow them to get a closer look at the home after recently undergoing an extensive refurbishment.
The home offers a range of facilities to cater for older people especially those living with dementia. With a new bistro area, open plan dining areas, refurbished communal areas and a new pub, which is titanic themed, the team at Broadwater Lodge has gone above and beyond to suit residents’ interests.
The home is also the only care home in Europe which has a farm on site. Broadwater Lodge built Codgers Farm last year after enjoying a number of successful animal therapy visits to the home. The farm is complete with pigs, goats, a rabbit, guinea pigs and a small flock of chickens.
Angela Bookham, home manager at Broadwater Lodge, said: “Open days are a great opportunity for visitors to come and take and a look at the new facilities here in our home. It gives them an insight into what life looks like at Broadwater Lodge and allows them to find out about all the activities we have on offer here.
“We cannot wait to welcome visitors for the day to show them what life here is like. It’s set to be a fantastic day.”
