Ipswich care homes make the finals in Suffolk Care Awards

Prince George House and Asterbury Place are celebrating after being shortlisted in the Suffolk Care Awards.

Ipswich care homes make the finals in Suffolk Care Awards

Prince George House, on Mansbrook Boulevard, has been shortlisted for the ‘Excellent Training Opportunities’, while Asterbury Place, on Aster Road, has been nominated for the ‘Excellent Support Services’ category.

The regional awards, which recognise those delivering quality care services, aim to reward excellence and shine a light on the work that individuals and care providers undertake.

The care team at Prince George House has been recognised for their commitment to team training and support of team progression. The home has also developed a new nurse manager position to provide new opportunities for the most experienced team members to further progress.

A member of the team at Asterbury Place has been shortlisted in the ‘Excellent Support Services’ category following the home’s entry which highlighted the credentials of maintenance person, Phil Crowfoot, for the award.

Phil is known for always going the extra mile and has already won two awards in Care UK’s Suffolk Home Awards. Having impressed those at the Suffolk Care Awards, Phil’s application has been further placed into the ‘Special Recognition’ category, fast tracking his entry straight to judging.

Melissa Cuevas, deputy home manager at Prince George House, said: “We are thrilled to have been shortlisted in the ‘Excellent Training Opportunities’ category at this year’s Suffolk Care Awards.

“Here at Prince George House, we are very proud of the wonderful home-from-home environment we have created and strive ensure that residents’ needs are met with regular and thorough team training. The team members work incredibly hard to make sure they have the insight and skills to provide fantastic care services for residents and their families.”

Christine Da Silva, home manager at Asterbury Place, commented: “We are delighted that Phil has been shortlisted in the ‘Special Recognition’ category.

“His commitment to go above and beyond for residents ensures everyone always feels at home. It’s people like Phil that make our home a wonderful place to live, and we are extremely privileged to have him as part of the team.

“We’d like to wish good luck to everyone who has made the finals, we’re looking forward to the awards ceremony in October and have our fingers crossed for Phil!”
