Yee-haw – Wellmeadow Lodge to host a country and western day

Yee-haw – Wellmeadow Lodge to host a country and western day

Wellmeadow Lodge is inviting the local community to a fundraising country and western event on Saturday 27th April.

From 2pm - 4pm, the team will open the doors to the care home for an American-style celebration.

In true Midwest fashion, there will be a performance from Stealaway to get everyone in the party spirit with some classic country and western tunes, as well as a raffle. Guests will also be treated to American-style food, including hot dogs and burgers, specially prepared by the Wellmeadow Lodge chef.

All funds raised will go to the Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer Scotland, which Care UK will also be supporting as part of its Ride 800 charity bike ride later this year.

Home manager at Wellmeadow Lodge, Catherine Brannan, said: “Residents and team members alike are really excited to welcome the local community into the home for our Country and Western Day.

“Many residents grew up during the golden age of Western films, so I’m sure many of them will take this opportunity to remember their younger years, and maybe even sport a cowboy hat or fringe jacket.

“We have a fun-filled day of activities planned for the residents, team members and the community, and are looking forward to seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces as they embrace our country and western theme.”
