Sherwood Grange celebrates national award win

Sherwood Grange is celebrating after it was recognised at a national awards ceremony.

Sherwood Grange celebrates national award win

The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards recognise individual and team excellence at more than 100 care homes nationwide across Care UK’s RCS division.

Having received nominations for three categories, Sherwood Grange beat off stiff competition to win the Meaningful Lifestyles award, one of 22 awards handed out during the event.

The prize was given in recognition of the lifestyle team at Sherwood Grange, who are constantly thinking of fun and interesting activities for residents to enjoy, while encouraging independence.

Residents have taken part in virtual reality sessions, theatre visits and even embarked on a holiday to Dorset. Family members of Sherwood Grange residents believe that the team have added years to their loved ones’ lives and helped them to discover a whole new lease of life.

Rick Mayne, home manager at Sherwood Grange, said: “The RCS awards ceremony was a truly inspirational evening – it was brilliant to hear about the compassion and dedication of team members, as well as the positive impact this has had on residents, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.

“We strive to make sure the residents at Sherwood Grange are constantly encouraged to take part in any activity they set their heart on. The team are passionate about providing engaging activities that allow residents to try something new – we will always go the extra mile to make sure we create meaningful pastimes for residents to enjoy.”
