Residents at Silversprings on Tenpenny Hill took a step back in time to 1940s Britain with a day of themed activities and events.
Visitors had the rare opportunity to view original artefacts from the Second World War, including military uniforms, ration books and newspapers, and taste foods that would have been available during rationing.
Bradley Cooper from the Historical Display Company hosted informative talks and demonstrations to help people understand what family life was like in wartime Britain.
Silversprings’ home manager, Donna Cousins, said: “We had a fantastic day turning the clock back here at Silversprings, reminiscing with residents and hearing their stories of a time that many of them remember well.
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Bradley Cooper for sharing his incredible WWII knowledge with us all and bringing some fascinating pieces along with him on the day.
“I’d also like to thank the many people from the local area that joined us for the day – we hope they enjoyed the occasion as much as we did!”
