The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards recognise individual and team excellence at more than 100 care homes nationwide across Care UK’s RCS division.
Mandisa Mthethwa, nurse at Franklin House off Rickards Close, walked away with the Nurse of the Year award, one of 22 accolades handed out during the event.
The panel of judges praised Mandisa for her kindness and commitment to enriching residents’ lives. However, it was the positive culture that Mandisa created at the home, by believing anything can be achieved, which judges felt set her apart from competitors in the category.
Mathew V Mathew, home manager at Franklin House, said: “The RCS award ceremony was a truly inspirational evening – it was brilliant to hear about the compassion and dedication of team members, as well as the positive impact this has had on residents, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.
“Mandisa goes above and beyond for the residents and is incredibly passionate about her job. She is always very caring, and her attitude is nothing short of extraordinary.
“I would like to thank Mandisa and the rest of the team for all their hard work in making Franklin House a wonderful place to live – every single person is such a valuable part of the team and I really appreciate their commitment to the home.”
