The team at Broadwater Lodge welcomed the people of Godalming to enjoy Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative set up to develop lasting relationships between care homes and local communities, and to dispel common myths about care home life.
The sun was shining as residents and visitors enjoyed a garden party and live entertainment to celebrate the Queen’s birthday. The team was delighted to host a special visit from the Mayor of Godalming Town, Councillor Anne Bott, and visitors were also treated to a delicious afternoon tea fit for the Queen.
Angela Bookham, home manager at Broadwater Lodge, said: “We had a fantastic afternoon celebrating Care Home Open Day at Broadwater Lodge. The residents all really enjoyed hosting afternoon tea and celebrating the Queen’s birthday, and it was fantastic to see so many of our neighbours come along for the party.
“Care Home Open Day is all about building bridges with our local community, and showing what life in a care home is really like – and what better way to do so than by celebrating in the sunshine! We would like to say a big thank you to Councillor Anne Bott, as well as the people of Godalming, for joining us.”
