On Saturday 19th May, from 12 noon, the home is inviting local people for a ‘right royal knees up’ and to raise a glass to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The home will be adorned with union jack bunting and residents will have their British flags at the ready for a live screening of the wedding. The care team has also organised a special garden party with traditional lawn games, including croquet and a ring toss.
There will also be musical entertainment provided by a local Elvis tribute artist to get everyone into the party spirit. To top off the day’s festivities, a member of the team and a Britten Court resident will be crowned the prince and princess of the day.
Chloe Swarbrick, home manager at Britten Court, said: “It’s been a busy few years for the royals, with big birthdays, anniversaries and new additions to the family – conversations around the Queen and her children are never too far from our lips here at Britten Court.
“We’re delighted to be able to bring out the bunting once again, this time to celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. We’re looking forward to commemorating the big day with the people of Lowestoft and raising a glass to the happy couple!”
