The team at Knebworth welcomed the people of Woolmer Green to enjoy Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative set up to develop lasting relationships between care homes and local communities, and to dispel common myths about care home life.
Residents and visitors raised a glass in celebration of the Queen’s 92nd birthday to mark the occasion. The day included live entertainment from local musicians, Clare Barnes and Kevin Woolnough, an afternoon tea fit for a queen, and special lunch prepared by the home’s chefs.
Vera Moreira-Henocq, home manager at Knebworth said: “We had a fantastic day celebrating Care Home Open Day here at Knebworth. The residents all really enjoyed the activities, and it was wonderful to see so many of our neighbours come along for the party.
“Care Home Open Day is all about building bridges with our local community, and showing what life in a care home is really like – and what better way to do so than by celebrating in the sunshine! We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us.”
