On Friday 20th April, from 10am-4pm, the team at Knebworth will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Knebworth has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include live music, and guests will be able to enjoy a banquet lunch fit for royalty and a traditional afternoon tea.
Vera Moreira-Henocq, home manager at Knebworth, said: “Here at Knebworth we believe that building relationships with the local community is incredibly important in enriching the lives of residents, which is why we’re excited to be throwing a royal celebration as part of Care Home Open Day this year.”
“Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of getting to know our neighbours even better, and supporting intergenerational relationships between residents and younger guests. We have plenty of activities and entertainment on offer for all the family, so we hope that the local community will join our celebrations.”
