On Saturday 21st April, from 10am-4pm, the team at Elwick Grange will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Elwick Grange has organised a party to celebrate.the open day. Entertainment will include Hawaiian Luau themed celebration. Visitors will be greeted by the home’s very own “Queen” and receive a welcome garland. There will be fruity drinks and cocktails, live entertainment, including a local singer and Hawaiian dancing group. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet Elwick Grange’s friendly team, who will be dressed in Hawaiian-themed costumes.
Helen Hewitt, home manager at Elwick Grange, said: “Here at Elwick Grange we believe that building relationships with the local community is incredibly important in enriching the lives of residents, which is why we’re excited to be throwing a special celebration as part of Care Home Open Day this year.”
