On Friday 20th April, from 11am-5pm, the team at Britten Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Britten Court has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, the home will host a Queen of Hearts themed day with Alice in Wonderland fancy dress and a musical performance from pupils from Benjamin Britten High School.
There will also be a special visit from miniature donkeys and a mad hatter’s tea party.
Chloe Swarbrick, home manager at Britten Court, said: “At Britten Court, we’re always looking for ways to get to know our neighbours better and build relationships with the local community. Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of bringing generations together for a fun-filled day, showcasing all that the home has to offer.
“We look forward to welcoming the people of Lowestoft for what promises to be another fantastic open day.”
