On Thursday 21st September, Whitby Dene held an afternoon of fun and musical celebrations at the very first ‘Whitby Dene Festival’, hosted by drag queen, Chamonix Aspen.
Residents and guests were treated to a spectacular line-up featuring a number of singers all much loved by the residents. John Longo kicked off the festival, and was followed by Ricardo and Kiddley Divey. The final act of the day was Andrea Queens who closed the show with a performance of ‘The Wonders of Whitney’.
As well as enjoying the musical medley, guests were treated to a delicious selection of festival food, with stands providing everything from a tempting barbecue, to tea and cakes.
Saad Baig, home manager at Whitby Dene, commented: “We were thrilled to be joined by the local community for our very first festival, and everyone really enjoyed the talented acts who took to the stage throughout the day. Holding our own event was the perfect way to share some of their favourite music with family and friends of all ages.
“Everyone had a fantastic afternoon, the day was a real highlight for the residents at Whitby Dene, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back again soon.”
