Elizabeth Lodge and the new Enfield Carers Centre have joined forces to support older, unpaid carers in the area who look after a loved one.
In addition to raising £250 for the centre, Elizabeth Lodge will also host a support group every Wednesday, led by the team from the Enfield Carers Centre who will provide support and a chance for them to meet other carers in the community.
Beatrice Oriowo, home manager at Elizabeth Lodge said: “At Elizabeth Lodge we understand that caring for a loved one is very demanding. There are over 30,000 unpaid carers in the area and the work that Enfield Carers Centre does to help allow local people the chance to have a life outside of caring, is incredibly valuable.
“We have worked closely with the team there on multiple projects, including a very successful Memory Lane sing-a-long for Dementia Awareness Week earlier in the year. We are thrilled to be able to offer them a donation to support the fantastic work that they do in the community, and we look forward to taking part in future activities together.”
