The residents were joined by members of the National Citizen Service (NCS) where they spent time getting to know each other and sharing stories of their lives including hobbies and interests.
The residents and pupils were treated to a fun-filled afternoon as they took part competing together in a number of different activities including bingo, and enjoyed a delicious selection of tasty treats.
The residents and young adults were kept entertained by past NCS member Renee, who sang a selections of the residents’ favourite songs. Later in the day, the residents were also treated to a special magical performance by members of the NCS team.
Whitby Dene home manager, Saad Baig, said: “At Whitby Dene, we strive to build strong relationships between generations as well as with our neighbours and local community, and we were delighted to welcome the members from the National Citizen Service for an exciting afternoon.
“The residents and young adults had a wonderful time sharing stories with each other, and we look forward to working with the NCS on future projects and hope to build on the friendships which have been forged.”
