Summer arrives in Kingsfield for Care Home Open Day

Residents at Kingsfield welcomed local people for a summer garden party to celebrate Care Home Open Day.

Kingsfield was one of thousands of care homes across the UK to take part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.

To celebrate the open day, the team at Kingsfield organised a summer garden party, where residents and visitors enjoyed a delicious barbecue, live music, and a bouncy castle. There were also numerous stalls for visitors to browse selling jewellery, skin care gifts and pottery.

Vanessa Pendleton, home manager at Kingsfield, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day is a particular highlight each year, as it is a brilliant opportunity to showcase our home and celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike.

“This year’s event was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building links within the local community. We hope that all our visitors enjoyed themselves as much as we did, and look forward to welcoming them back to the home for events in the future.”
