Franklin House was one of thousands of care homes across the UK to take part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.
Residents and visitors were joined by guests of honour Deputy Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr. John Morgan, and Deputy Mayor Escort, Mrs Pauline Bianca, for a day of celebrations which included a delicious summer barbecue and entertainment from local musician, Ashley Webber.
Mathew V Mathew, home manager at Franklin House, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day is a particular highlight each year as it is a brilliant opportunity to showcase our home and celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike.
“This year’s event was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links with the local community. I’d like to give special thanks to the Lodge Brothers, St Martins Church, South Land’s Art Centre and Greggs Catering Company for their support with the event.
“We hope that all our visitors enjoyed themselves as much as we did and look forward to welcoming them back to the home for events in the future.”
