On Thursday 13th July, from 3pm-4pm, local people can drop into Elizabeth Lodge and learn about what it is like to live with dementia.
The Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is an initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition.
During the event, the Care UK team at Elizabeth Lodge will be on hand to help local people understand what it is like to live with dementia.
Beatrice Oriowo, home manager at Elizabeth Lodge, said: “At Elizabeth Lodge we have a commitment to encourage others to learn about dementia, and we are really proud of the progress we have made by supporting Dementia Friends. We want to educate people, but also help the community turn their knowledge into action by making our community more aware of those living with dementia.
“We look forward to welcoming members of the Enfield community into our home on Thursday 13th July, and helping to spread awareness of what it is like living with dementia.”
