On Wednesday 28th June, from 2pm-3pm, The Burroughs is welcoming an expert to give advice to the community. Ben Bassaly from Rapid Response will be visiting the home to offer guidance and information on preventing falls and maintaining independence.
As well as discussing the common causes of slips and trips, Ben will also be on hand to provide expert advice on how to create safer environments for older people and the activities and exercises that relatives can implement to help improve their loved ones’ balance.
After the event there will be a Q&A session, and those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet the team at The Burroughs and take a tour of the care home.
The Burroughs home manager, Josephine Thomas, said: “Here at The Burroughs, we seek to provide in-depth advice to people in the local community on topics relating to our work. Falls prevention is very important to the team, and to the wellbeing of the residents, as accidental falls can occasionally lead to further health issues.
“It is imperative we create a safe environment for older people in the community, and ensure that family and friends have the correct information to prevent accidents.”
