Wellmeadow Lodge team celebrate 240 years of service

Wellmeadow Lodge has presented awards to its longest serving colleagues, totalling an impressive 240 years.

Members of the team at Wellmeadow Lodge have been recognised for their commitment and dedication to the home in an awards presentation.

As part of the celebration, the home also officially opened its brand-new café which provides residents and visitors with an inviting space to enjoy a cup of tea and piece of cake. Everyone raised a glass during the festivities, and enjoyed entertainment from local singer, Julie Max.

Several team members have given more than 15 years’ service to the home, with three colleagues giving more than 20 years. Judith McPherson, a care assistant, is the longest serving team member and has worked at Wellmeadow Lodge for more than 25 years.

Helen Boxall, who has been an administrator at Wellmeadow Lodge for 20 years, said: “I love working at Wellmeadow Lodge, the residents are a joy to be around and the team are very close.”

Home manager, Catherine Brannan added: “Here at Wellmeadow Lodge we have a number of long serving colleagues so this was a great opportunity to thank them for all of their hard work over the years. It was lovely for residents to be able to give the awards to the team members and express their gratitude for the great level of care the team provide.

“It was wonderful to be able to tie the awards presentation with the café launch to celebrate how the home has changed since it opened.”
