On Thursday 23rd February from 1pm, the team at Sherwood Grange will open the doors to the care home on Robin Hood Lane for its Dementia Friends event.
Lene Wood from Staywell, an independent charity that supports older people to live with dignity, will be on hand to help people understand what it might be like to live with dementia. The aim of this session is to help increase understanding of dementia and encourage people to think about the small things they can do to help people living with dementia and their carers in the local community.
After the event there will be a Q&A session, and those who attend will also have the chance to meet the team at Sherwood Grange, as well as take a tour of the care home.
Rick Mayne, home manager at Sherwood Grange, said: “Here at Sherwood Grange we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of those caring for loved ones living with dementia.
“We are looking forward to welcoming local people to Sherwood Grange for what promises to be an interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
