On Thursday 19 January, the local community enjoyed a host of entertainment at Skylark House, as part of its opening celebrations.
The Care UK team was joined by Mark Spofforth OBE, High Sheriff of West Sussex, who was in attendance to officially open the care home. Guests were treated to a special performance from children at Holbrook Primary School, and local jazz band, Gershwin Gang, who were on hand to play some of the resident’s favourite songs.
Guests were also given the opportunity to get up close with animals from the Hawking Centre, including birds of prey, a friendly skunk and a tame lizard, and enjoyed a demonstration with the birds from the handlers.
Those who attend the event also had the chance to meet the team at Skylark house and take a tour of the care home, as well as enjoy a selection of tasty treats made by the home’s head chef.
Skylark House home manager, Devendra Lallchand, said: “We were delighted to have a visit from the High Sheriff of West Sussex to officially open the home and mark this important milestone. We would also like to thank the children from Holbrook Primary School, the Hawking Centre and Gershwin Gang for helping to make this such a special event.
“Since we opened the doors to Skylark House, residents and their families are at the heart of everything we do, including the launch celebrations. It was fantastic to welcome so many local people to the home and our grand launch was a day to remember.”
