On Thursday 2nd February from 2pm-4pm, The Burroughs will open the doors to the care home for its Understanding Dementia event.
Dementia specialist, Debra Fox, will be on hand to help people understand what it might be like to live with dementia. There will also be support and practical advice on what dementia is and how memories are lost, as well as useful tips on how to overcome communication barriers – with the aim of helping people discover positive approaches to caring for loved ones living with dementia.
After the event there will be a Q&A session, and those who attend will also have the chance to meet the team at The Burroughs, as well as take a closer look at the care home.
Josephine Thomas, home manager at The Burroughs, said: “Here at The Burroughs we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of those caring for loved ones loving with dementia.
“Previous events have proven to be incredibly popular, so we are looking forward to welcoming local people to The Burroughs for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
