Kayleigh, a carer at the care home was one of three finalists in her category, and beat off stiff competition from colleagues in over 100 Care UK homes nationally.
The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards recognise and reward individual and team excellence across Care UK’s RCS division. Kayleigh was nominated for the RCS Stars award for the hugely positive impact she has had on residents and the team at the care home since joining Mildenhall Lodge earlier this year.
Kayleigh has been commended for her friendly and professional attitude, as well as being praised for being highly competent and an all-round excellent carer.
Speaking about the award win, Kayleigh said: “I was shocked when I heard I was a finalist in the category, so winning came as an even bigger surprise. Putting others first and making a difference to the wellbeing of residents every day is what my job is all about, and I am honoured to have been given this accolade.
“I can’t thank the wonderful Care UK team and residents at Mildenhall Lodge enough for their continued support.”
Home manager at Mildenhall Lodge, Katy Hughes, said: “We are thrilled that Kayleigh has won Carer of the Year in the national RCS Stars awards. Kayleigh is incredibly caring and constantly goes out of her way to help others, she really is an invaluable member of the team.”
