The local community, family and friends joined residents and the team at Sandfields for the family-friendly open day. There was dancing and live music which got everyone in the party spirit.
The anniversary celebration at Sandfields also coincided with Care Home Open Day. The annual initiative is aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, creating lasting links between care homes, residents and their local communities, and developing relationships across the generations.
Deanna Lane, home manager at Sandfields, said: “Since we first opened the doors here in 2014, we have welcomed a total of 194 residents to Sandfields for long-term or respite care.
“There have been so many highlights over the last year and our second anniversary is a very exciting milestone for everyone. We all are proud of the warm and welcoming quality care environment we have created here at Sandfields, and we took great delight in showcasing our home and all the good work we do here.
“The day was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links with the local community.”
