At Sandfields care home in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, residents enjoy quality care in luxurious surroundings.

Our experienced team provides residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as specialised nursing dementia care and respite care. We also offer compassionate end of life care too.

Our three-storey home has some wonderful facilities for your loved one to enjoy. Sandfields truly sets the standard in comfort. Each floor is divided into two suites, each with its own dining room and lounge and cluster of spacious en-suite rooms. Ground floor rooms open on to our gardens and have a little patio area.

We pride ourselves on the transparency of our care quality and fee information - ensuring you can trust us to care from that very first step.

My favourite part of the day is meeting with my team at the start of the day, receiving handovers from each unit and supporting colleagues to make decisions that will make a difference in the lives of the residents.

The management arrange monthly meetings for relatives and we're always encouraged to attend. The meetings feel very open, the discussions are about how they are moving forward, what improvements they want to achieve and the management are always open to listening to relatives' concerns and questions. They know me and my family as well as they know my loved one... it feels like a home for us too.

The staff are genuinely caring and compassionate, to the extent that it can be a bit overwhelming when you see it and feel it on every visit. They are so transparent, so honest and astute with their communications. I trust them entirely to tell me anything that happens, to be honest and open and not to conceal anything. They gained a good understanding of my loved one's personality very quickly and worked out her routine to minimise causing unnecessary stress and support her independence. They have developed a relationship based upon the person she is and they support her as an individual. They go beyond the call of duty.

The staff are well trained, exceptionally capable and clearly committed to what they are doing. They are available if anyone wants to talk to them and they're extremely pleasant people to have around. If I have any questions, they are they for me too, I'm never left out in the cold. I have worked with lots of people over the years and I know quality when I see it! They don't put on an act and it's not just a job for them, they are naturally attuned to caring for the residents and it shines through in all areas.
