Cathkin House was one of thousands of care homes across the UK which took part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with even more people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.
Visitors to Cathkin House took the opportunity to meet home manager, Lynn Rossi, and find out more about what life is like at Cathkin House. Everyone was also treated to tea and homemade cakes produced by the care home’s head chef.
Lynn Rossi, home manager at Cathkin House, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike. We all are proud of the warm and welcoming quality care environment we have created here at Cathkin House and we took great delight in showcasing our home and all the good work we do here.
“The day was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links with the local community.”
