From 10am to 4pm, local people are invited to join in a host of fun activities at the care home on London Road. At 11am, there will be a lively fitness session led by exercise instructor Diane Ruddick. This will be followed by musical entertainment and a traditional afternoon tea at 2.30pm, where there will be selection of tempting treats homemade by Larkland House’s head chef, Dawn Garrett.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the care home and also have a sneak preview of the new 14-bed nursing unit which will be officially opening in April. And throughout the day, home manager Caroline will be on hand to meet visitors and answer any questions they may have about life at Larkland House.
As home manager, Caroline oversees a 62-strong team at Larkland House and she has the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the care home. Having worked as a registered manager for over 10 years, and in the care sector for over 20 years, Caroline has built up extensive experience and knowledge in this area.
Caroline said: “Our community open day will give visitors the chance to see the care home for themselves and to talk to the team, while also getting an insight into what day-to-day life is like at Larkland House. They can also take part in the fun activities we have planned and indulge in a delicious afternoon tea.
“We are looking forward opening our doors and cannot wait to showcase everything the care home has to offer. A warm welcome awaits the people of Ascot.”
