Eye care home offers free stroke awareness event

Residents in Eye who think they, or a loved one, may be at risk from a stroke, are encouraged to attend a free ‘Stroke Awareness’ event at Hartismere Place care home.

The free event will be held on Thursday 18th February from 10am-12pm with speaker Neil Chapman from the East of England Stroke Association. Neil will provide advice, guidance and free resources on identifying, recognising the signs and recovering from a stroke. The event also provides an opportunity to meet the friendly Care UK team at Hartismere Place and take a look around the purpose-built care home and adjacent day care centre. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.

Cathryn Weed, home manager at Hartismere Place, said: “A stroke can be a life changing, sometimes fatal, event which is why it’s so important that people are able to recognise the symptoms and act quickly. We hope the local community will come along and receive our free help and advice so that if a stroke does happen, they will be able to act with confidence.”
