The annual Care UK awards took place at Heythrop Park Resort in Oxfordshire on Thursday 19th November. The awards are a celebration of the great work, compassion and dedication of the staff at Care UK. With 114 homes across the UK, we support more than 7,000 people to continue living active and independent lives in warm, safe and comfortable surroundings. This year, more than 700 nominations were received across 17 categories in the Care UK awards.
Andrew Knight, Residential Care Services managing director, said: “A huge congratulations to all our winners and a big well done to everybody that had been nominated, we really appreciate the great job you’re doing.”
Indu Paramasivan from Beech Hurst is the first to be awarded our new Clinical Lead of the Year award. Indu is highly regarded not only by her colleagues but also by families and visiting health professionals. Her knowledge of residents’ needs and understanding of person centred care was described by judges as exceptional.
Indu encourages her team to bring ideas and look at ways to further enhance service delivery. She also seeks feedback from residents to ensure their needs are being met.
Effective communication, her approach to weekly clinical meetings and anti-psychotic medications and her continuing professional development were just a few things that impressed the judges.
Beech Hurst Home Manager Soonita Shaw said “I am delighted for Indu as she thoroughly deserves this award due to the conscientious and dedicated approach to her work that she has shown over the last year. Indu’s commitment to continued professional development and her positive attitude has been an inspiration for all her colleagues at Beech Hurst.”
Winner Indu Paramasivan said “I am very proud of my achievement and recognition of my hard work and commitment to the residents and relatives at Beech Hurst.”
