Activities coordinator Maxine Tyson greeted the impressive historical vehicles, which included a Dispatch Bike, American and British Jeeps and a DUKW; a six-wheel-drive amphibious truck. Residents including Dorothy Sheridan and Keith Smedley had a wonderful time looking around the machines and reminiscing about the war. In the afternoon guests enjoyed a light buffet whilst listening to Joanne York sing songs from the 40's.
Maxine Tyson said “This was a fitting way to mark VE day and the end of the Second World War in Europe. A great time was had by all. Many residents began recalling stories about the war and remembered seeing these vehicles when they were younger! I would like to thank Sandra Roe for bringing these beautiful machines to our home"
