Members of the public are invited to drop-in to the care home on Mill Road on Thursday 19 February from 2pm until 4.30pm to find out more about care in later life and the support available for local people.
Throughout the afternoon, visitors to The Burroughs will have access to information on services for older people in Hillingdon, as well as practical advice on how to safeguard the wellbeing of loved ones. Representatives from the Age UK, the country's largest charity dedicated to helping everyone make the most of later life, will be on hand to answer questions, and an Osteopath will be giving free seated massages along with guidance on staying fit and well.
Representatives from the care team at The Burroughs will be available to offer advice, and to discuss options around the different types of care available, such as residential, nursing and dementia care. There will also be tours of The Burroughs, giving guests the opportunity to see the care environment for themselves and gain an insight into how residents are supported to lead active and fulfilled lives on a day-to-day basis.
Home Manager, Josephine Thomas, explained why she is opening the doors to The Burroughs. “With an ageing population, there is a growing need for families and communities in general to ensure older generations are properly cared for and, together with Age UK, we wanted to host a free Wellbeing and Information Fair to open up access to information and expert advice.
“The event has been designed to provide plenty of practical guidance on staying well; and we will also be giving people an idea of options for later life care, while also signposting them to other services in and around Hillingdon.”
