Care UK’s Britten Court welcomed residents from The Dell care home in Beccles and Stradbroke Court home in Lowestoft in November 2014, who are now settling in and taking part in the home’s festive activities.
Manager at Britten Court, Beata Brzozowska, knows the Lowestoft community having lived in the area and worked in various care homes locally for many years. Beata said: “It’s wonderful that residents were here together this Christmas in their lovely new home. We have been arranging activities and visits so that everyone has the opportunity to make new friends.”
A group of residents took a trip to see the local pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, at the Marina Theatre on the 18 December and a Christmas fancy dress party was held for everyone at the home on the following day, with a buffet of festive treats baked by the care home’s chef. A Christmas carol service with St. Andrews was also hosted in the home.
On 29 December the care home’s adjacent Britten Club also opened its doors to members of The Dell and Stradbroke Court wellbeing centres for Christmas reminiscence sessions and craft activities. The Britten Club offers flexible day care for older people living in their own homes locally.
Britten Court on Love Road in Lowestoft offers residential and nursing care for up to 80 people. As well as Stradbroke Court and The Dell, residents from Care UK’s Blyford home in Lowestoft will be moving in to Britten Court in January 2015.
