Outpatient department administrators Matthew Smith, Nikki Flinders and Katie Woodcock, along with imaging lead Paul Jepson, took off from Hibaldstow in Lincolnshire, to jump 15,000ft at speeds of up to 189mph.
The jump raised £500 from colleagues at the treatment centre and the team is now applying to Care UK for match funding for their high altitude efforts.
Paul Jepson said: “It was our first time and I think we were all slightly nervous but it was worth it for such a worthwhile cause. We were lucky with the weather and the view was astounding. Although we have no immediate plans we would like to take on more fundraising challenges in the future and we have to see where our next adventure takes us.”
Gill Barnes, interim hospital director at Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre, said she was very impressed with her team’s efforts: “It takes a lot of courage to take on a dive and a lot of commitment to raise that level of money. However they are two of the many qualities I have come to expect from the team at Barlborough – they really are high flyers who will give all for their patients.”
We are happy to arrange interviews with a range of experts, commentary on industry issues and site visits for filming, photography or sound recording. Please get in touch with your requirements and we will do our best to arrange a suitable response.
