After visiting the Greater Manchester NHS Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service (GMCATS) mobile unit in Salford for a check-up, David was so impressed by the team that he wrote in to share his experience.
“The team was excellent; the people had empathy about them. They looked interested in you and there was good eye contact. I particularly notice these things because I work in retail and I’ve been responsible for customer service.”
River Island commercial development manager David, 57, was referred to Care UK’s mobile unit by his GP who recommended he have his prostate examined there.
After his initial assessment in October, father-of-two David went back in to have a blood test, scan on his kidney and flow test the next day.
“It was all very simple and all done very quickly and that’s what I found most reassuring. The letters sent in advance were very helpful and gave clear guidance,” said David.
Based in Cousins Furniture car park, the mobile unit surprised Worsley-based David by how good the service was based on its outside appearance.
He added: “At first you’ve got to get over the fact that you’re staring at something that looks like it fell off the back of a ship. But inside it was clean, tidy and the team was excellent. It was nice and easy to get to.
“I thought it was a wonderful experience if you can use that word to describe having your prostate examined. The Care UK mobile unit gives you all the confidence you’d want from a hospital. This is almost like how I’d really want private to be.”
