A message for people using our care at home service in Norfolk

You may have heard that, with effect from later this summer, Care UK will not be providing the care at home service for part of Norfolk known as Broadland. Donna Cousins our, Director of Quality and Governance explains why:

“We apologise to people who have experienced difficulties with their service over recent weeks. We have accepted that we may have overstretched ourselves in the additional areas of Broadland and have admitted that we have struggled to recruit and retain sufficient care workers in the Broadland region to enable us to deliver a consistently high standard of service to our customers there. We now recognise that this area needs a provider who is better able to accommodate the local geography and people’s particular care needs.

Relinquishing the Broadland area will allow us to focus our attention on delivering a high quality of care to the people in the other areas of Norfolk that we will continue to be responsible for. Over the next few weeks, we will work closely with Norfolk County Council to ensure a smooth handover of the service.”

Services in the Norfolk area outside the Broadland region are not affected by this change.
