A Bradford NHS treatment centre has passed a national quality audit with flying colours.
Eccleshill NHS Treatment Centre, off Harrogate Road, received a routine inspection from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of all health and social care services in England. The CQC inspector passed the centre on all five core standards:
The centre is operated by Care UK, a leading independent provider of health and social care services, and services are commissioned by the local NHS. The centre provides a range of day case treatments including orthopaedics, minor general surgery and endoscopy, and an impressive range of diagnostic services includes MRI and CT scanning to walk-in X-ray.
The CQC inspector’s report praised the centre, saying: “We found people were well informed about their intended care and treatment and well supported throughout their surgery including pre-assessment, discharge and after discharge. People’s care was logically planned and people were positive about the efficient way in which their care and treatment was managed. Effective processes were in place for reducing the risks of cross infection.
“We found the environment of the hospital was visibly clean and staff had received the necessary training in order to follow and initiate best practice. We spoke with people who used the services and one person said they were fully informed about their procedure and the service was “seamless.
“Another person described how they always chose the centre for their surgery and how staff were “friendly and professional.” Another said the service was “brilliant” and “it couldn’t be faulted”.
Christine Wardman, hospital director, at Eccleshill NHS Treatment Centre, said: “We are pleased to have passed this important inspection and delighted with the comments from the inspector. The inspector’s conclusions are testimony to the dedicated work of the entire team at Eccleshill.”
