Meadow Court celebrate Christmas in style

Company news

The staff and residents of Meadow Court care home celebrated Christmas in style throughout December, taking part in a variety of activities and going on several outings. One activity included Care UK’s Great Christmas Cake Off competition. The Christmas competition, which stretched across all Care UK homes and day centres, asked homes to bake and decorate a cake, involving residents and the local community. Although Meadow Court did not win, they had some festive fun and everyone got involved in the baking of the cake, from residents to activities coordinators and chefs.

Some of the homes residents were taken on a day trip to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, to get in the mood for Christmas and experience a traditional German themed market.

Back in the home, Meadow Court hosted their very own Christmas party, which saw residents and staff dress up in festive outfits, whilst enjoying entertainment and a selection of fine food. The staff sang Christmas carols for the residents, with the winning group being awarded a selection of festive cookies. Christmas carols proved popular in the home, with the local church and schools also visiting the home to serenade residents with carols.

Debra MacDonald, Activities Coordinator said:

“I would just like to say thank you to all our residents, staff and relatives for the help and support with all the activities over the season and for making Christmas so special.

Also a special thank you to Catherine Garrett, Deputy Manager, for the huge support, not only over the holiday season but also since joining Meadow Court”.
