Pinetum Care Home was fortunate enough to receive a visit from Councillor Tom Parry as part of the National Home Open Day. Councillor Parry spoke to a number of our residents, their family members, and also our staff.
This coincided with the project for councillors to regularly visit care homes in the borough, providing more direct access to councillors for residents and families. Speaking at the launch of the initiative, Councillor Tim Perry, chairman of the group that developed the project said:
“Recent events in the care industry nationally have once again shown how important it is for us to provide as many opportunities as possible for residents and their families to give us feedback on the quality of their care.
“Pinetum Care Home was decorated with bunting and stalls including homemade cakes, tombola and hot dogs. Most residents were outside and enjoying the lovely weather and the birds of prey demonstration. We even took one large owl around the bedrooms of those who weren’t able to get outside. “I was able to speak to a number of residents who were greatly enjoying the festivities and had much praise for the staff and the home”
Tracy Simpson, manager of Pinetum care home added:
“We operate an open door policy at Pinetum and welcome these visits to highlight the high standard of care we provide”.
Pinetum welcomes any future visits from councillors in the borough and will continue to run events at our home, which our residents enjoy participating in.
