Care UK wins CIPP award for employee pension project

The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) recently presented Care UK with an award recognising the organisation’s commitment to automatic enrolment in workplace pensions.

The Payroll & Pensions Excellence Awards were established to recognise individuals and organisations who demonstrate payroll and pensions excellence. CIPP’s seven judges chose Care UK as winner of the CIPP Most Effective Approach to Automatic Enrolment Award.

Care UK started preparing for automatic enrolment 12 months prior to the staging date in March 2013. A specialist team was set up to oversee the planning and implementation of workplace pension reform – a major government initiative. Care UK undertook a number of key phases, selection of new pension providers and advisors, key stakeholder communication, assessment and specification of payroll systems and testing and implementation. Care UK now has robust processes in place to ensure that the organisation will continue to comply with the legislation.

Care UK’s pension manager Rebecca Loader said: “I was so pleased to accept the award on behalf of the team. They worked so hard to make this a successful project and ensure our communications were effective and help was available to our colleagues."
