Franklin House celebrated summer recently with, by popular demand, a barbecue in our grounds, to which we were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Hillingdon Councillor Allan Kauffman.
We were also joined by Lindsey Cape, area manager for Macmillan Nurses, and 20 per cent off the money raised by the small fees for refreshments and activities went to this very worthwhile charity.
Our manager Nompilo Ndlovu said: “It was a great day - the residents loved the informal atmosphere of the barbecue and it is nice for them to be able to spend time with friends and relatives, having fun and enjoying the very tasty food prepared by our talented kitchen team.
“It was also nice for team members to be able to bring along their families to meet the residents – it adds to the warm, family atmosphere we have in our home.
“We were delighted to be able to support the Macmillan Nurses who do such a wonderful job in the community. Their hard work is appreciated by the residents, their relatives and the team and so we are delighted to help in any way we can.”
