Mills Meadow care home in Framlingham has shown it knows how to throw a great tea party! The home has been announced as a runner-up in the National PG Tips Tea Party Competition which ran in July and early August at over 100 Care UK homes and wellbeing centres.
The National PG Tips Tea Party Competition was held in response to PG Tips being the most popular tea of choice at Care UK homes. Mills Meadow was one of three finalists, alongside Lennox House in London as runner-up and Franklin House in Middlesex as the winning care home.
Manager at Mills Meadow care home, Lucy Nicholas, said: “The tea party was great fun, residents waved their flags, played instruments and sang along to 50s music. We also held a tea-tasting competition using the variety of teas provided by PG Tips in a special tea party pack. Lemon tea was a popular choice with our residents, who voted it as their favourite flavour.
“It is a great achievement that Mills Meadow has been chosen as a runner-up in the National PG Tips Tea Party Competition. Our residents enjoy a variety of activities and entertainment at Mills Meadow and it is wonderful for that to be acknowledged.”
Mills Meadow care home was chosen as a runner-up for the national competition because of its patriotic theme, combining the traditional 50s tea party with a celebration of the birth of Prince George.
