By popular demand, we are happy to announce a barbecue for residents and their friends and family in Franklin House’s grounds and we are delighted that the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Allan Kauffman, will be joining us.
We will also be joined, on Sunday 25th August, by Lindsey Cape, area manager for Macmillan Nurses, as 20 per cent of the money raised by the small fees for refreshments and activities at the barbecue will go to this very worthwhile charity.
Our activities coordinator Lola Krasser said: “We are expecting it to be a great day - the residents love the informal atmosphere of the barbecue and it is nice for them to be able to spend time with relatives, having fun and enjoying the very tasty food prepared by our talented kitchen team.
“It is also nice for team members to be able to bring along their family to meet the residents – it adds to the warm atmosphere we have in our home.
“We are also delighted to be able to support the Macmillan Nurses who do such a wonderful job in the community. Their hard work is appreciated by the residents, their relatives and the team and so we are delighted to help in any way we can.”
We will also be thanking the Co-operative Group who have very generously given us £50 worth of vouchers to raffle. Also in the raffle are gifts from Arora International Hotels, Tangles Hair Dresser, Tina's Nails and Grimstead Funeral Home, who have donated bottles of wine and a limousine ride.
The barbecue is open to all friends and family and will take place between 12.30 and 4.30pm.
