Residents at Care UK’s Broadwater Lodge, in Godalming, are inviting members of the public to join them for a free afternoon of family fun on Saturday 7th September.
The fun runs from 2 – 4pm at the home in Summers Road, Farncombe, and manager Angela Bookham promises there will be something for all the family. She said: “My team and some of the residents’ families are helping to create lots of stalls and activities. As well as face painting and a bouncy castle there will be stalls selling fashion, cakes and bric-a-brac as well as a tombola and raffle stall.”
As well as the stalls visitors will be able to enjoy refreshments, including a barbecue prepared by the home’s kitchen team, and there will be entertainment too.
Angela said: “Our grounds are looking wonderful. Many of our residents have always been keen gardeners – they like to lend a hand and the team value their experience. I know the residents will be looking forward to showing people around their home and the grounds.
"Many of our residents have lived in the area all their lives and we have good links within the community. Children from a nearby nursery school come to sing for residents and we offer work experience placements for students from Broadwater School, which is opposite the home, so we hope we will see old friends at the fete as well as meeting some new ones."
