We help to make national day a success

On Friday June 21, Care UK’s homes joined hundreds of others around the country in opening their doors for the first National Care Home Open Day and here, at Birchwood, we were not about to be left out!

Our visitors were able to enjoy a garden party, fete and barbecue with entertainment from a brass band and a magician.

There were also stalls selling a variety of goodies and visitors had the opportunity to learn more about our home. Manager Kim Tillson said: “We had a great day that, I think, reflects the lively atmosphere of our home and the interests of our residents.

“The team were delighted to be able to show visitors around the home and show them how Care UK’s approach to care promotes dignity and choice for residents.”

As well as showing visitors around our home we also gave away copies of the brand new book As Easy As ABC: Care UK’s Top 100 Hints and Tips for Activity Based Care. If you would like to learn more about ABC and how it can improve older people’s independence and wellbeing you can download it from www.careuk.com.
