Everyone needs a place to be calm and relax and thanks to the generosity of a former resident’s family we now have a new space that we can all enjoy.
The Joan Burgess Rest and Relaxation Room was recently opened thanks to a very generous donation from Joan’s family.
Our Manager Beverley Taylor said: “Joan was a lovely lady. She sadly passed away and she has been greatly missed but thanks to the generosity of her family her memory will live on in the form of this lovely room that is already bringing a great deal of pleasure to lots of people.”
The room, which is near our reception area, has been painted in relaxing colours, it has comfortable chairs and gentle and calming music is available if required. There is also a projector that displays calming images onto the wall to support people visually with relaxation.
The room is open to residents, their friends and relatives and the team and time can be booked in the little haven.
Beverley said: “Joan’s family wanted to say thank you to the team for all their work in making Joan’s life here happy. We felt we wanted to create something that would benefit as many people as possible, that would promote wellbeing and celebrate a wonderful lady’s life and I think we have manage to create just that.”
