Brand new care home creates 80 new jobs in Poole

Recruitment for a brand new care home in Poole is underway, creating around 80 new jobs in the town.

The Care UK home, called The Potteries, will provide residential and dementia care for up to 80 people and is currently being built on York Road and recruitment for a variety of roles has started.

Among the roles currently being recruited for are nurses, care assistants, team leaders, housekeeping teams, kitchen assistants and receptionists.

The home is due to open in October and will be the latest addition to Care UK’s portfolio of purpose-built care homes.

Specially designed to offer high quality care, the luxury new home will include many features such as a coffee shop for residents to spend time with visitors, as well as a hairdressing salon and cinema. There will be a strong community focus at The Potteries, with a ‘Friends of’ club set to open for relatives of residents and the chance for local people to visit for events ranging from information care seminars to tea dances and fun days.

Lynda Appleby, Operational Projects Director for Care UK, said: “Our newest home is going to be a fantastic addition to the local area and will offer the chance to be part of a team that brings specialised, professional care to people living with dementia.”
