Pensioners helped back into Action

The Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Pensioners Action Association recently welcomed a representative from Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre to its meeting for an insight into how the Centre could potentially help its members.

The Centre provides NHS specialist orthopaedic treatment and is very proud of its short waiting times and high patient satisfaction rates.  A large number of the 20,000 patients treated at the Centre since it opened in 2005 are of pensionable age with many writing to say how treatment at the Centre has changed their life for the better.. The Centre prides itself on providing high quality patient care at its unique facility in friendly and comfortable surroundings. The Centre has never had a case of hospital acquired MRSA or C.difficile.

Graeme Kendall, Manager at Care UK’s Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre said: “Attending meetings such as this provides us with a platform to reach people who may not know about the Centre.  Orthopaedic surgery often makes a big difference to people’s lives, helping them to become more mobile and independent  If any other local community group would like us to supply a speaker, we would love to hear from them.”

Run by an independent company with an impressive track record in patient care and clinical success, on behalf of the NHS for NHS patients only, the Centre provides day care and inpatient orthopaedic surgery for patients from Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. The Centre, is situated less than one mile from Junction 30 of the M1 which makes it very accessible and the parking is free.
